Lorde: Concert Review

Written by on October 1, 2025

Seeing Lorde at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia honestly blew me away. The openers were amazing too. Japanese House and Blood Orange are both acts I already love, so it felt like such a strong lineup before Lorde even came out.

She opened with “Hammer” and the energy was immediate. The entire crowd knew every word to every song, which made it feel bigger than just a concert. It was one of the loudest and most high energy crowds I have ever been in. Usually people are too nervous to dance at shows, but not here. Everyone was jumping, arms up, singing, even people in the very top seats.

The setlist had everything I wanted. She played new songs like “What Was That” but also gave space to her older music from Pure Heroine and Melodrama. Hearing “Team” and “Liability” live felt special, like she was taking us through all of her eras.

The stage itself was simple for most of the night, but it never felt empty. Cameras filmed her live and turned it into collage style edits that played on the big screens. It felt creative and personal. She had a couple of dancers but it was not typical pop choreography. It felt more like a play or performance, which fit her style perfectly.

For the encore she moved to a B stage and sang “World Alone” and “Ribs.” That moment was cathartic. Everyone stood on their chairs, screaming every lyric, and it gave me chills.I am still amazed at how good that show was. Lorde completely owned the space and gave us a night that felt both massive and intimate at the same time.
