Mitski Concert Summary and Review

Written by on February 26, 2024

Mitski, an American singer and songwriter originally hailing from Japan, independently released her initial two albums, Lush and Retired From Sad, New Career in Business. She gained significant recognition with the release of her album Puberty 2, featuring the popular track “I Bet on Losing Dogs.” Her subsequent album, Be The Cowboy, garnered widespread attention online, especially on platforms like TikTok, with songs like “Nobody” and “Washing Machine Heart.”

On February 7th, Mitski delivered a captivating performance at The Met in Philadelphia. The concert adopted an orchestral seating arrangement, with Mitski performing on an elevated stage. Timely and mesmerizing, she presented a diverse selection of songs from across her discography, weaving a narrative through her movements. This unique concert experience exposed me to new Mitski songs, deepened my understanding of her older tracks, and fostered admiration for her artistic work and stylistic choices. Having attended numerous concerts, I can confidently say that Mitski’s live performance is unparalleled. I highly recommend seeing her if you can get the chance.
