Villanova women’s soccer kept its winning streak alive Sunday with a commanding 4-0 victory over Lehigh at Higgins Soccer Complex. The Wildcats (4-2) have now strung together four consecutive shutout wins, their longest such run since 2006.
Four different Wildcats found the back of the net in a dominant first half. Hannah Curtin opened the scoring in the 15th minute, followed quickly by freshman Avrie Nelsen’s strike less than three minutes later. Amalia Cardo extended the lead in the 33rd minute, and Morgan Kotch capped the scoring before halftime with her second goal of the season.
Head coach Samar Azem praised her team’s first-half performance, calling it “the best I’ve seen us play,” but noted the group still has lessons to learn when holding a big lead.
Alex Little tallied two assists, while goalkeeper Hannah Dickinson and backup Allie Vincent combined for the shutout. Villanova edged Lehigh 13-10 in total shots.
The win marks the Wildcats’ most goals in a game under Azem, matching last year’s 4-0 win over Temple. Cardo has now recorded a point in four straight matches, the longest streak by a Wildcat since 2021.
Villanova will look to extend its streak on the road Thursday night, September 11, at Princeton.
