First Quarter: Villanova Leads with Late Push

For much of the first quarter, the game was neck to neck. With around the last two minutes of the first quarter, the Wildcats went on a 9-2 lead against Seton Hall, pushing their lead to 25-14 to close out the quarter. Lucy Olsen pushed the pace for Villanova, hitting 6 of 7 shots and making 15 points, with 9 points being from three-pointers. The Wildcats shot 14 of 24 overall, while Seton Hall was 7 of 15 in the quarter.

Second Quarter: Villanova Sustains Lead Going into Half

The Wildcats and Pirates again found themselves in the same situation at the end of the first quarter. With close to three minutes left to play in the quarter, the score was 29-24 with Villanova leading, but Villanova went on a 5-0 run at the end to widen their lead to 34-24. Bella Runyan contributed to this small but essential run by making a three-pointer, with Zanai Jones contributing two points off a jumper.

Third Quarter: Villanova Widens Lead

Villanova carried their momentum into the third quarter, going on a 13-0 scoring run, which widened their lead to 47-24. Bella Runyan contributed massively to that run with 5 of the 13 points, making both a three and a layup. The Pirates then went on a 10-0 scoring run, but Villanova still took a commanding lead at 49-32 heading into the fourth quarter.

Fourth Quarter: Villanova Closes Game

Villanova, despite the late scoring run from the Pirates in the third quarter, was able to regain the momentum they had, and they went on an 8-0 run to start the quarter, widening their lead again to 57-32, with contributions from Orihel and Dalce. The Pirates could not keep up with the pressure from the Wildcats, and the game eventually ended with a smooth 69-41 win for the Wildcats.
