WXV Thanks U!

Our WXV Needs U fundraising campaign, held the week of April 17th, was a huge success, as we raised $7,692 for WXVU!  The donations came from many station alumni, dating as far back as the WWVU days of radio at Villanova in the 1960s.  We had family and friends of DJs and staff members contribute, faculty members at Villanova, and listeners outside the Villanova community who enjoy WXVU’s programming.

It was truly an inspiring week for us all.  Your contributions will go toward:

·         Remastering our entire music library in digital WAV file format.

·         Studio construction to allow access of our new Podcast Room during ongoing broadcasts.

·         FM transmitter redundancy to ensure continuous broadcasting to the Main Line.

·         Sports broadcast equipment for coverage of VU Baseball, Lacrosse, Hockey and more.

WXVU hosted two live broadcasts on-campus during the fundraising week, including from Wednesday’s 15^th annual “Get in The Game – Be The Match” at the Connelly Center, held by Villanova Football, where we conducted interviews with Andy Talley and Mark Ferrante.   We also broadcasted live from the Riley Ellipse on a beautiful Friday morning, and spoke to Whitey Rigsby ’78, a broadcaster for Villanova Men’s Basketball for 43 years.
