WXVU CAMPUS NEWS MINUTE FOR THE WEEK OF DECEMBER 19

Written by on December 21, 2022

By: Gabriella Raful

Students should have received an email last week in which Villanova announced the plan to migrate all student Google accounts (Gmail/GSuite) to the Microsoft Office 365 platform (Office, Outlook, OneDrive, and Teams).  This account migration will significantly improve the calendaring and scheduling process between students and faculty, provide enhanced security and privacy features, and increase the storage capacity of all Villanova user accounts. Villanova has also created a Student Email Migration Website which is an organized and easy-to-navigate collection of all the online resources and training materials students will need throughout the migration process. Everything students need to know about how to prepare for the transition, as well as FAQs, links to register for live Outlook training webinars, Quick Resource Guides for Apple, Windows, and mobile (Outlook) users, training videos for using OneDrive, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and additional information about future project deadlines, can be found here. Live training webinars will be offered from January 3 through January 9, 2023, with morning (10:00 am), mid-day (1:00 pm), and evening (4:00 pm) sessions available for both Apple and Windows users.

In other news, the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences study abroad programs, language and culture courses, virtual exchanges, and visiting students and scholars all contribute to a globally inclusive campus. Students from 47 countries make up Villanova’s diverse student body. This year, Villanova is welcoming visiting students from Lille, France and Galway, Ireland, as well as our many international students here for their full degree programs.
